It was a great day today on Lock 1 for all 18 folks who came out today to the Bass Assassins tournament.  The little rain shower that came threw was followed be some wind, and more clouds.  This was a welcome relief from the heat of the day. We saw lots of fish come across the scales, and lots of smiles at the launch.  Clay Zeringue  easily won with a 6 lbs. 6 oz. limit.  Following in second was Bruce Dickens with a limit weighing 5 lbs. 11 oz.  Joe Picone took home third with five fish that weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz.  Big fish honors went to Jimmy Dorris for his 3 lbs. 5 oz. kicker.  Taking home the Little Tanglers win was Payton Waller with his limit weighing in at 5 lbs. 5 oz.

Northshore bass fishing vet Jimmy Dorris remains in the lead after the West Pearl River Shoot-out. He had a decent finish on the West but could not add any valuable points to his best 9 finishes for the year. Chris Basey scored some valuable points in this last event and shorted the gap between him and the AOY leader. He is now only 145 points behind Jimmy Dorris and still has 6 events left to go. Joe Picone made another good showing on the West Pearl River Shoot-out and earned some valuable points in the AOY race. Joe has shortened the distance between him and second place AOY contender Chris Basey by only 25 points with 6 events left to go. One more good finish and he will be looking to go toe to toe with AOY front runner Jimmy Dorris for the AOY Crown. Up next is the Lock 1 Lock Down where Joe is always a threat. He has the AOY Crown in his sights and is looking to capitalize with another strong finish on the Lock. 6 events left to go for this season and it is still anyone's game. 

The fishing was great today on the river.  We had 14 anglers, and two Little Tangles compete today.  Eight limits were brought in to the scales today as well as some big weights.  Rustin Beaudette brought in the biggest bag weighing in at 10 lbs.7 oz.  In second was Morgan Schutte with a 9 lbs. 8 oz. limit.  Right on his tail  was Jason Pittman with a limit weighing 9 lbs. 7 oz.  Big fish honors went to Morgan Schutte who had a 4 lbs. 12 oz kicker.  In the Little Tanglers division Caleb Beaudette.  Caleb brought in 3 fish weighing 5 lbs. 1 oz.
